Where the information comes from
The library uses HGNC for gene names, MedlinePlus for explanations, ClinGen for reviews of gene–condition links, and ClinVar for information about reported variants.

MedlinePlus Genetics
Gene and condition explanations from MedlinePlus, part of the US National Library of Medicine. We use its public-domain Genetics summaries and show the original review dates.

Expert reviews of the evidence linking particular genes to conditions, available under CC0. An absent review does not rule out a link.
ClinVar
Information submitted about genetic variants. We show gene-level counts recorded monthly in a file published each week. These counts cannot tell you your risk of a condition.
